In the morning it is grass and open sky. By nightfall it holds a mandap, a thousand footsteps and the brightest evening of a family's year.
The transformation begins with geometry. Where the mandap faces, where the stage sits, how the dining rows breathe — a lawn is drawn like a floor plan before a single pole is raised. Sightlines decide everything: every chair should see the ceremony; no guest should dine with their back to the celebration.
Then the layers arrive in order. Canopies first, their frames squared before the fabric goes taut. Tables and seating next, in uniform ranks that will soften the moment families scatter them into conversation. The buffet spine is laid where food travels shortest from kitchen to counter.

Light is the final material. Festoons overhead, warm washes on the stage, the soft spill across the dining lawn — evening light is what guests will remember as 'atmosphere', though it was planned in daylight with a wiring diagram.
